Don't Make These Reel Mistakes for Real Estate
Mar 10, 2022Not getting any new leads from your real estate Reels? Is your Facebook & Instagram growth at a standstill even though you’re making Reels? There are a few mistakes that are being made that nobody is pointing out…let’s troubleshoot the reasons why you may not be seeing the results you want with your Reels.
1. Don't only do trends
Your Reels should include stories about who you are, what you do, how you will serve your home buyers and sellers and provide helpful information to help them meet their goals.
Trends are trending videos that use the same music, the same text and the same angle. If you're going to do trends, switch up the angle, the scene, or something that makes you stand out.
If you only make trending reels exactly like everyone else, you're going to look and sound the same as everyone else.
2. Don’t forget to use text
For your Reel to catch the eyes of serial scrollers passing by, add on-screen text to the Reel. Here's why:
- Not everybody scrolls with the volume turned on/up. If you're lipsyncing or dancing, unless there is text to read, the prospect will not know what the Reel is about.
- Use bullet points as your on-screen text. Think short & sweet with 1-3 points. Too much text will be difficult to read.
- Text gives context to your Reel and helps people to clearly understand what you're talking about.
3. Make a plan and follow a strategy
A one and done Reel is not going to bring you buyers and sellers consistently. Instead...
Make a plan to produce your Reels. Plan out the content, select the audio, the scene, any props you'll use, your attire and when you're going to record the video(s).
Strategize the messages that you're going to convey in your Reels. Messaging is key to attracting new leads and connecting with them through video. Plan out the strategy so that each Reels' content stacks on top of the next Reel.
After posting at least a month's worth of Reels, analyze the Reels that are popular & performing well and recycle them into new Reels.
Keep these tips in mind the next time you start creating a Reel for higher engagement and ultimately get more leads to turn into sales!
